Low Growing and Patio Rose - Innocence
An eyecatching bushy patio rose of great charm. The salmon apricot flowers have a touch of gold at the base making the whole plant sparkle. There is an abundance of bloom throughout the summer. The foliage is medium green and glossy, the leaves being small in keeping with the size of the semi double flowers. Following the tragedy at Dunblane Primary School in March 1996 the parents of the sixteen children who were killed have named this Rose in their memory. The rose captures perfectly the colour, joy, exuberance, vulnerability and innocence that all children bring into our lives. The Children's rose was chosen to compliment that selected by the family of their much loved teacher, Mrs Gwen Mayor. The parents' wish is also that other children and their families should benefit from the sale of 'INNOCENCE' and for that reason they have chosen a charity which brings comfort and hope to children who are terminally ill. The Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) provides care and support for 200 children and their families each year through Rachel House in Kinross, Scotland's first children's hospice. It also offers support to other families who have suffered the loss of a child through terminal illness. Therefore, a donation of £1.50 for each rose sold will be made to CHAS. Parentage: Clydebank Centenary x Ray of Sunshine.
