Name a New Rose Variety
The rose breeding program at James Cocker and Sons is an on-going and rigorous process to create the very best new rose varieties.  We offer our customers the opportunity to choose and name one of our new varieties as a unique gift, to mark a special occasion or to commemorate the loss of a loved one etc.  Naming a variety is also an excellent charitable fundraising opportunity or corporate promotion.
You are invited to visit our trial fields in Aberdeen to select your variety from our specimens whilst they are in bloom.  Once named, we will provide you with a bare root rose for planting directly into your garden which should be in bloom within a matter of months.
Each variety is certified to be a unique and original cultivar.  Your newly named variety will be offered for sale to the public through our catalogue, with an explanation of the name included in the variety description if you wish. We can supply as many plants as you require and all plants are covered by our replacement guarantee and backed up by 170 years of horticultural experience which is always at your service.
From traditional to contemporary, we have a range of varieties, styles and colours available for you to select from.  Prices start from as little as £1,000 + VAT.  If you are interested in choosing and naming a truly unique rose which will give many years of pleasure, please call us on 01224 313261 to discuss your requirements or email us at Name a Rose Variety Enquiry

Gold Standard Roses

The Gold Standard trails are the result of a joint initiative between professional British rose breeders represented by BARB (British Association of Rose Breeders) and NIAB (National Institute of Agricultural Botany).  Based on cumulative information from invited independent judges throughout the two year period of trial, the Gold Standard is awarded to worthy varieties. Health, floriferousness, scent and commercial appeal are all considered factors.  The first trial was planted in 2004 and there are now 51 varieties in the Gold Standard hall of fame.  Look out for the Gold Standard symbol in our variety descriptions.
